1. Soda is Useless
They contain no nutritional value, only carbonated water and refined sugars.
2. Acidity
Soda, regardless of the makers, typically have pH of around 2.5. Going back to our fourth grade science, battery acid has a pH of 1 and pure water has a pH of 7. The reason you don't taste the acidity is because so much sugar has been added to disguise the taste!
Now I wonder what will happen if I let the soda pass through my mouth, pharynx, and then my esophagus into my stomach...
3. Dehydration
As a rule of thumb, every cup of coffee/tea we drink needs an extra cup of water to replace the diuretic effect. For sodas, that number increases because of the high sugar and caffeine content found in the drinks.
4. Weight Gain and Obesity
Is it a coincidence to see fat people hanging out in American fast food joints all the time? High carb and high fat meal paired with sugar overloaded drinks... If you can't skip the fast food joints, do yourself a favor and order a hot tea minus the sugar on your next visit.
5. There are SO MANY HEALTHY alternatives!
Fresh juices, milk, tea and even water!!! Be creative and drink fresh, don't make a habit of drinking packaged drinks. Processed food or drinks are rarely good for you.
